Built 1841 – 1842 to accommodate increasing congregations. Financed largely by money provided by chartermasters and working miners and often known as the ‘Chartermasters’ Chapel’. Named after Reverend John Fletcher, Anglican vicar of Madeley and one of the founding fathers of Methodism. At least five chartermasters lived in Court Street.
